In one of our bathrooms we have a japanese style toilet with bidet/dryer and a electric motor bath.
The electrician installed it with an isolating transformer Carroll & Meynell 3000VA Intermittent Isolation Transformer 230V/230V - Screwfix - https://www.NoLinkingToThis/p/carroll-meynell-3000va-intermittent-isolation-transformer-230v-230v/320hv.
The transformer is buzzing away and is hot to touch even when not under load.
Is this the correct way to supply power to the electric components in the bathroom?

It certainly sounds unusual to me. I'm suspecting there may be a bit more to this story.

I'm thinking it's either someone who knew exactly what they were doing and why, or it's someone who had some concerns and with the best motivations (your safety) proceeded to over-think it
It's possible it's also something to do with a product designed for one market being installed in a different country with different wiring regulations.
Another piece of speculation - Is the toilet very close to the bath or shower?
Anything relevant in the manufacturers installation instructions?

Why not invite him to register on here and explain the rationale behind it?
