Are pendant lights allowed in a kitchen? My parents have moved into a 4 year old bungalow with 2 pendant lights in the kitchen. Seeing as the kitchen is now a special location, is this allowed? Silly question I know but can't find anything in the BGB or Part Pee...

kitchen is NOT a special location. it's only considered as such by the part pee gestapo. pendants are perfectly acceptable in a kitchen. might be crap, but acceptable as faras regs. are concerned.

Yes you can have pendants in a kitchen, and a kitchen is not a special location in BS7671 or Part P of the building regs.

Not the nicest of lights, admittedly, but looks fine in my kitchen... 2012-09-05 15.22.43.jpg
