Motorisec valve

Hi All,

I am working in a property where there is a system boiler which is controlled via a standard timed programmer however the client has asked that there is to be a motorised zone valve installed at lounge radiators, with a thermostat in the lounge, so that the temperature of this room is controlled spearately from the rest of the system.

Can any of you guys put me the right way regarding the connections that would be required for this.

I have installed 2 x 3 core and earths to the zone valve from the boiler and 1 x 3 core and earth from thermostat position to boiler, to cover all bases.

The zone valve being installed is a honeywell version, the type that has the 5 core pre-flexed cable attached

How you wire it will depend on how it is supposed to behave...
Is there another motorised valve in the heating circuit?
Does it also have to be open for this rad to heat?
Is this thermostat supposed to be able to call for heat and make the boiler fire up, when the rest of the system is off / already at temp?
From your description it sounds like this is the case, but equally it might have been plumbed so that it works just as a superior kind of thermostatic radiator valve.
