Hi
I’ve just replaced my old Bosch dishwasher with a new Bosch one (SMV46GX00G).

It washes well and dries the dishes reasonably well, however the inside of the machine is always covered in condensation after the cycle, as the photos show.

I’ve been using the auto 45-65°C cycle, and I’ve tried the extra dry function, which has very little effect. The condensation doesn’t seem to go away when the machine is left shut, so in the morning (after using the dishwasher the previous night) it is still full of condensation and water droplets.

This didn’t happen with my old dishwasher, and hasn’t happened with any other dishwashers I’ve used, they’ve always been dry inside after the cycle. So my question is: is all this condensation and water droplets normal, or is there something I’m doing wrong, or a fault with the machine?

Just as a test, have you opened it up half way through a cycle to see if it is actually hot and steamy?

Mine stays wet when on a rinse / cold cycle but when on a 30 degree it is dry after.
Yes I’ve opened the door just after the cycle a few times and I get a load of hot steam, so definitely seems to get up to temperature. The dishes themselves dry quite well, I was just surprised that the inside of the machine was so wet as my old Bosch was always perfectly dry. It was only around 7 years old but I replaced it as it started washing poorly and then tripping the RCD so I thought it wasn’t worth the cost getting it fixed.

So there should be a vent on the inside of the door and in side the door panels, there should be a filter. That filter gets gross and mucky and traps steam from escaping the vents on the outside of the door.

Hi - for what it’s worth, my 2yo Bosch DW does not behave like yours. It’s dry and so are the dishes :) .
My 7 ish year old one was also always dry inside. I’ve tried using rinse aid which seems to help a bit, but it seems like Bosch expect it to be wet after the cycle as the instruction manual says it is normal to have condensation inside.

Hi - I also use the rinse aid and salt. I would say there’s significant opportunity for ventilation on the top, bottom and rear of the unit, courtesy of Mr Plumber’s oversized core drill for sink drain (and my laziness in not sealing them up with foam).
