Hi I have been looking at a 1950's flat which is wired in pyro so would this mean RCD protection is not required?

I thought that piro's do need rcd protection because they are not adequatly protected in the wall like cables in conduit are?????

Stick a nail or screw thro' Pyro and what happens??
I would still RCD protect the cable as the copper sheath doesn't provide enough protection from penetration of nails or screws.
Why would anyone in their right mind wire a domestic in pyro?

Unless people 'install' it with no glands!swa wont stop a nail either but doesnt need rcd'ing.
