Heater element possible cause

try doing an insulation resistance test at the plug l/e n/e with it turned on? does it trip when its on a particular cycle, if so agree with ian possibly heating element or water getting into components when its rinsing etc.....

Agree also if the heating element has burned out dont touch the chassis as it could be live !
