Is that not a line conductor in the exposed porcelain connector in picture 2?

Don't forget that current best practice dictates an 'unsatisfactory' assessment if there are code 2 or 1 defects identified on the report.

I think it'll be a short debate, if something 'requires improvement' how is it 'satisfactory for continued service' ?

If if was ok when it was installed to the regs of that time, then a code 2 'needs improving' is not a failure.
