Sorry if this has already been posted before, but it's not something I can find a definite answer to. Does anyone know if passing the 2396 Design & Verification course, means that you don't have to sit the Design Unit on the HNC in Electrical Engineering? I'm sure I have seen a few people saying that this is the case. Currently trying to decide between which course to do at the moment, although I may end up doing both eventually.

I've completed both and have not heard of them being equivalent or interchangeable...

Best thing to do is to call admissions at the institute you are thinking of learning at and see if they will give you module credits for it.

I'd say it would depend on the body accrediting the course though.

I haven't done either course yet, but I have emailed the provider where I have enquired about doing the HNC. They did say that they would review any Level 4 qualification as Recognition of Prior Learning.
I did find a thread on here somewhere, where somewhere had had a reply from the HNC course provider that they had gone with, where they said they'd accept the CompEx qualification as RPL towards doing the Design Unit. I'm really torn between which qualification to do first, as I feel they are two very different types of courses altogether. But each have their place
