AM2 preparation day

Evening all,

I'm looking for some help. My apprentice has got his AM2 coming up in march.

When I did mine in 2004 I paid to go on a preparation training day thing where a guy talked us through what to expect. He was based in Wigan (aspull I think) and it was in his garage that he had converted to an assessment bay. He was very good and full of useful tips and he made me feel very confident before I took my AM2.

Basically I know its a long shot but does anyone know this guy and have any contact details for him? Or if not does anybody know of any similar training days available in or around manchester? I think it will do my apprentice no harm in having a bit of extra training before the exam and I want him to pass first time.

Can't help you finding the guy. But I did a prep day at Peterbrough college, and it was a valuable recap. I would check to see if the college doing his AM2 do a prep day as Peterborough do.

You met a AM2 assessor in his garage at home, were you groomed by any chance? Ha, joking.

Joking aside - can't say i see the relevenace of the assessment day, as you can tell i never went to mine, the paperwork you're provided with tells you everything you need to know about the AM2...and if you're not prepared the day before (preperation day) then you never will be....just tell him to imagine himself at work, and theres a deadline day to be met...worked for me.

Failing that, ring the local college, pretty sure they'll be able to point you to someone who's in the vacinity.
