Hi. Am looking to install some garden lights in parallel. I am looking to do some of the work to keep costs down. And employ the services of an electrician to make connections.
Am hoping to have a switch and pir for the lights. So that I can switch off all the lights when I don't want them coming on. But can I get a three position switch or an extra switch so that the system can 1. All be off. 2. Pir controlled or 3. Switched on permanent and not via the pir?
Also what cable would I need for this. Assuming 3 core (Live. Neutral and Switched Live?) Plus earth ? And would this cable need to run the entire length of the paralell or just from switch and pir at the start then continue in twin an earth.
Thanks in advance for any help.

If your getting an electrician in to do connections you will need to converse with one now so they can tell you how do do it and check after first fix.

Note not all electricians are willing to do this

As above. Have a chat with the electrician who will be doing the job and giving you the cert at the end. He can tell you what is needed.
Some light switch on permanently if you which them On-Off-On within a time limit. This means you can use a standard switch (Depending on what light you are using and wattage)

and i'd never consider using T/E outside either.
