i just quoted for a EICR at a vet's. 3 boards, each is 12-13 way. then there's the aggro of not being able to turn things off due to animals being treated/x-rayed/ etc. it's all pretty newish installation though. i've estimated 2 full days, but think that may not be enough.

Nights for you then Tel!

My brother in law owns a vets practice, I tell you, we have it all wrong and are in the wrong job because he earns big money and has just bought a £1.7m house, which I'm really jealous of! Not fair is it, you wait... I'm winning the Euro millions this week!

Over a 'working' 8 hr day thats a circuit around every 15 mins? Takes me that long to take the lights out and put them back in at the end ..... and then the paperwork!

Well judicious use of limitations, guidance notes and regs means the lights don't come out.. In fact on many sites they don't even go off. (i.e. a bank during working hours). Like i said judicious use of limitations.

Sure theres a reason all the big FM firms and high street names use limitations, and its the old issue of you get what you pay for i guess..

That said, i would totally agree to fully test id expect 12-15ccts a day max as a sparky, but can assure you on the big 3 testing firms in UK you'd be unemployed sadly pretty fast.. :-(

Can't say I've ever seen one but it does make you wonder that if something goes wrong who is asked to explain it to H&S/the Court? Is it the customer for requesting it carried out with so many limitations as to render it almost worthless or the tester for not advising the customer it's too unsatisfactory and in his professional capacity he can't do it? Or why he does it knowing its limitations? And what does the insurance company think when the customer wants to make a claim based on the limited EICR post whatever has happened?

Don't know the answers but interested to hear from anyone who has experience of such!

its like a 2391 question who decides limitations? you cant go wrong you can only do what the customer wants, if they want minimum compliance with what the insurance company wants then thats that. As long as you dont make up results i cant see how it can come back to the inspector they would have done what was asked and documented it.
