This is a question I ask alot of people, because funnierly enough people either, don't understand, or find it very hard to explain. So heres your chance to shine, and explain the theroy of electricity, and how AC circuits work. At the simplest level, you always have the source of electricity (a battery, etc.), a load (a light bulb, motor, etc.), and two wires to carry electricity between the battery and the load. Electrons move from the source, through the load and back to the source.

Sorry, to go into more detail, I'd have to charge you :)
 
wikipedia is excellent for these type of questions saves me having to remember things i was taught 20 years ago . remembering my names hard enough:)
