hi guys. got a lot of halogens in the house and when they blow they seem to really blow and take out the fuse too...

this happens quite a bit but i have an old style fuse box with the plug in 2 prong cartridges that hold fuse wire. so i'm always having to get a torch and pull it out and change the fuse wire etc.

i wondered if anyone new of a 2 prong lighting cartridge that'd plug in but just had a trip switch on the front instead? it'd make life a lot easier... thanks for any help or advice.

thanks for the quick responses. do i need to do anything to the fuse box etc to put these mcbs in, or will they just plug straight in as the old ones with fuse wire in did? also do you know anywhere cheap that sells them?

thy will plug straight in. But, as suggested i would want to kow the cause of the tripping, get an electrician to test the installation.

regards

They DO NOT simply replace the re-wireables.

The carriers are different and so therefore the fuse box will need isolating and the cover would need removing to fit them.

And to be honest most 3036 cu's i have come across have the incoming live and neutral shrouds missing and so would have live exposed parts, even with the main switch off.
