HNC in Electrical Engineering - Course Books

Hi guys,

Went to see my local college about the HNC EE course, I asked him about reading material I could get a head-start on before the course begins. He gave me an ISBN number for an "Engineering Study Guide". Unfortunately the ISBN number did not produce any book results in a search online. I do not want to call him back for possibly messing up on simple information, I would prefer to delay until the course begins before he witnessess the levels of my stupidity.

Anyone heard of this engineering study guide, or can recommend good course books for the HNC?

Google is your friend.

I'm looking at an HNC as being my next move.

Google isn't always your friend if the ISBN number produces no results. I much prefer a book title and author as search references:redface:

This... Electrical and Electronic Technology: Amazon.co.uk: Edward Hughes, Dr John Hiley, Dr Keith Brown, Ian McKenzie-Smith: Books is a good book.
Search on amazon and you should be able to get an earlier edition for just a few £s.

Look out for the electrical engineering and principles books by John Bird. Not only does he cover most of the HNC syllabus, but i found on my HNC some of the assignment questions were actually lifted straight out of his books. Very handy

Fair whack on some of these books, so I did not want to rush in and buy anything. John Bird has more books and letters after his name and than anyone I have ever seen haha.
