i have had this before when heating installer done 4" core hole for boiler flue, when straight through 10mm earth cable,i crimped it together,i remember something similar asked in the niceic newsletter they recommend a box to conseal joint.the brb says all connections must have durable strength and continuity, one of which says the use of a compression tool is sufficent,i have cut and crimped onto existing water bonds to extend through to new gas supplyte when the route for new 10mm would be a real headache,it is acceptable to do so.

YEP. Having pulled through my Ten mil, instead of cutting the drum free cut through the bit I had installed. Bit of oh deary me and obviously re ran it.
Was talking to my inspector, and he stated (NICEIC) that a soldeired joint would of been acceptable.
As in Lambs Post, I cannot see why it is not acceptable to make a join in CPCS. What is a MET after all?
CPCS do seem to have an untouchable legend to them. Obviously as in any other circuit,if we can avoid a joint we do but not at all costs, as seems to be the way with CPCS.
