hi, this is my first post on the site, i am currently studying c& g 2330 and we have reached the star and star delta section of the course. for whatever reason i am struggling to get my head around the subject and was hoping someone could shed some light on it as simply as possible. any help would be great before i go insane!! cheers. gary

Are you level 2 or 3 and are you part time or full time? What are you covering at the moment and in what context has star and delta come in?

im studying part time level 2! we just finish unit3 outcome 4 "Describe the basic principles of operation of polyphase systems" where we covered star and delta systems!

Hi, it must be the first time it has come up then and must seem quite confusing - it will keep coming up and will become clearer as you re-visit it. The key things are to remember the relationships between V and I in star and delta. It doesn't figure a great deal in the level 2 exams.

I am posting a link to some info - could be password protected, apologies if it is. (link removed) let me know if it works :)

Edit : link was protected, sorry - try this instead, two thirds the way down the page there are loads of level 2 multiple choice questions for all the different topics HERE
