    All Rcbos

Someones told me that to comply with the latest regs then a split load board with half the circuits as rcbos & the rest on mcbs with an RCD is no good & all rcbos is the way to go. I can see the point but it seems overkill ???

    RCBOs vs RCDs Pt2

OK we are told RCBOs are the way to go. Agreed. Because this will do away with using a RCD but, and I guess this has been questioned and possibly answered before, why buy an RCBO that only protects phase side (single pole RCBO) of the cct? Have I missed something? Do we put in one RCD!? Fred

    RCBOs vs RCDs with MCBs

In a domestic set up ie average (if there is one) house is there any reason you wouldn't use a RCBO but a MCB and a RCD? I can't think one Fred

Sanity check - replacing MCBs with RCBOs

Hi All Wanted to get feedback on this idea. I have 3 fuse boards which trip frequently whenever there is a lightening storm nearby. My electrician friend has suggested he swaps all the MCB's with RCBO's so that individual circuits trip rather than the whole board. Each board currently has a...

    retro fit rcbo's

Had some rcbo's to retrofit to some dorman smith 3 phase db's earlier and it occurred to me as I was fighting past the other cables in the 72 way board that they are actually a nightmare to fit in a busy as heck board. Why they so bloody long?!?!

    Steeple RCBO

I wanted to add a couple of sockets by the windows of a small clothes shop. The easiest way, I thought, was to create a new, radial circuit. The C.U. is a Steeple and there are two spare ways into the board. The existing circuits are protected by RCBOs so I bought a new one from Denmans. When I...
