Hi there iam currently wiring a commercial pub kitchen was just wondering the degree of protection for enclosure like 3 phase isolators etc just for my own peice of mind thankyou

The regulations make no specific mention.of pub kitchens, however they do require everything we install to be suitable for the enviroment.

So basically it is down to the person designing the installation to decide what is required having carefully considered the likely use of the installation.

Ideally equipment with a high degree of ingress protection would be used generally.

IP44 would be a good place to start. all depends on how aggressive and wet the cleaning processes are. not very in most of the pub kitchens i've seen. there's a pub in my area (no names) with does really nice food, but the RCBOs in the kitchen DB will likely never trip. they's bunged up with grease. can't even read the rating
