it is an established and reputable local builder I've worked with before. just can't see how he can get it sooo wrong.
yeah my fault, I only left him 20mm gromits.

I remember drilling a load of holes to pass conduit through brick internal walls one cold weekend in a stinking fish processing plant.

When I returned the next weekend, some wet pants had used them for his push fit plastic.

Push fit pipe is so easy to take out...

when you leave the builder knock out boxes and gromits.

I've seen this sort of s..t loads of times, its a case of the builder/plasterer can't be arsed to contact you about disconnecting the cables so they can be passed through the appropriate grommet holes (assuming the connector block was on before they installed the back box)

Wondered what the other light switch was for in the hallway. Looked in the porch and there it was! Double socket fed from the 1.5mm feed which presumably fed a wall light originally. Also, only one fixing screw, no grommet, and thin flex to the socket itself. Lovely. Daz

And the socket is broken in the top left corner . But hey ho at least they remembered to earth the soc..... and the sleeving doesn't cover all the cable.

I didn't think it worth mentioning about the broken socket but good point yes. The plug that was plugged into this also didn't have sleeved live and neutral pins - just to top things off Daz

The worst part of that is that it's been wired in the past 12 years

All cables same size throughout. No ring circuits, only radials, cpc not connected etc etc. Company who did the EICR also did the Gas Safe and Legionella testing.
