Hello every one,
I am a new user or you may say a new installer of explosion proof wiring systems.
Any one please tell me about the Conduit fittings, lighting fitures and heat proof wiring cables used in Explosion proof wiring in Petroleum Gantries.
Thanks, awaiting for responses.

Please don't tell us that you have been set to work installing electrical installations in a petrochem environment without any training in the standards that are in force in the country your working in???

I would suggest you get hold of an illustrated copy of the American NEC or other publications that deal specifically with this area of electrical installations in hazardous area's. The American NEC requirements tend to be of a higher level than those found in UK and European equivalents....

I hope your of a strong physical build, as some of this equipment can weigh more than you do!! ...lol!!!!

Benji I have learned the Cooper Course-Hinds brochures, they are so help full beside these I have learned NFPA 70 & 70E, and I have the code too.
But the problem is there are a mixture of many things in codes it is difficult to understand.
Therefore I have requested on this forum.
Thank you for replying me, but I again urge you all for assisting me.
Cable is the main problem, and I will explain the area if you require it for helping me.

No-one said the codes are easy to follow, but you WILL need to know them, inside out and backwards, if you are going to be involved in, what is a very specialised area of our industry. I'm afraid there is no place for anyone ''playing'' at knowing what there doing in the Petrochem industry, especially when it comes to electrical hazardous area installations....

So what is it you don't understand then, because we can't assist you, if we don't know what it is your unsure about??

Gotta be a wind up!

" hello just started open heart surgery but not sure what scalpels to use / best way to scrub up"!

It may or may not be a wind up.

I’ve spent a lot of time on international sites. The usual ruse is a question from a plant engineer when in reality it’s a student trying to get his homework done.

One of the best was regarding building a hydro power plant. It took a lot of concentration from myself and engineers from all points of the compass to keep the spiel going. It all fell apart when the OP asked how a 60MW turbine generator set could be transported to site through the small villages on the way without getting stuck going around corners. I don’t think the poor lad will ever forgive us.

I want to know about the cable used in areas of classe-1, division-1, group B,C & D.
Beside this, this for your kind information:
The area where we Want to install cable is an area, where Petroleum products (Gasoline and High speed Diesel) are being filled through loading arms, It is a Loading gantry, Where we want to install Explosion proof lights.
Cable will be run in G.I conduits.

One of the underlying principles behind the design, installation and maintenance of ATEX / IECEX compliant equipment is that only suitably qualified / trained persons work on the equipment. By the very nature of your questions asked here you do not fit in to this category.

To give you advice on what to install and how to install it would be completely irresponsible, almost as irresponsible as the fact that you have been instructed to install it in the first place.

:clap::clap:

I'm just wondering how big an explosion the wiring is required to be proofed against, and what distance the wiring is to be from the explosion?
I reckon I could disable most wiring systems with just the powder from 5.56 x 45mm NATO cartridge.
