Hi peeps,

I've added a PIR sensor into a security light that was previously just controlled by a switch. I've kept a permanent feed still from the switch so it can be either switched on, or will come on from the sensor.

And, it all works great. Except...

It is now sometimes triggered by another light or two being switched on. It's not 100% of the time but I have tried it myself and it does sometimes set it off.

All I did was remove the T+E from the switch, put in 3 core from the switch (to keep both permanent live and switched) to the PIR and new T+E from there to the light.

I've checked the wiring in the switch and all looks good. Only other thing that has changed is the other lights which activate it have apparently had new flourescent strip starters but can't see that making any odds.

Any thoughts/ideas?

Thanks in advance!

the switching of the other lights could fool the pir in to activating . some sort of suppression may cure the problem.
