Dear all

I plan to have a split install fitted in my property which will see 8 panels on my house roof and 8 panels on my double garage roof.
The garage is approx 15 meters from the house.

I would like like one inverter in my intake cupboard.

Is it possible to split the panels and will it be ok to run an underground cable between the garage and the inverter with another feeding down from the house roof install?

Thanks

4 core 4mm2 (or 6mm2) SWA preferably run in ducting from the garage, with isolators at both ends.

it's doable, though my preference would be to fit the inverter in the garage and run the AC connection in SWA to give the circuit more fault protection.

Not sure you'd fit an inverter in the 'intake' cupboard even if the DNO would allow it nothing stopping you putting on the wall beside it as the good ones are all outdoor rated.

As GavinA says best place for the inverter is the garage.
