Hi i would like to know if is possible to install 10 electric shower (8.5kw) in one hotel if is possible what changes do I have to make to the general electrical distribution board

Get an Electrician in to survey and plan the works required to install these showers.

I come across this all the time. The answer is generally no, but as pete999 says it needs a survey by competent person.

If you only have one phase then I would recommend no more than 2 but even that depends on the loading in the rest of hotel.

Yes it’s normal. If it’s 80A I would probably only recommend 1 electric shower depending on load of rest of hotel.

Hi jean- mark.
I’ve given advice based on information supplied. 1 shower possibly 2 depending on load of the rest of hotel. In order to know this load you will have to get a competent spark in to physically calculate.

What more advice do you require?

You have been given the right advice by Members, you need a survey by both the DNO and a qualified Electrical Contractor, if you choose not to agree with the advice, and go ahead regardless, then on your head be it, oh and stop shouting,

so you're planning on installing a total load of 350A onto what is probably a 100A supply. buy a pack of BS1361-II fuses or speed dial your local DNO.

every sunday morning i see about 10 old boilers jogging. i think the idea is to keep fit longer and be coffin dodgers, but from the look of stress on their mushes, i don't think they'll last for much longer.

it's OK, the hotel is owned by as bloke named Basil, married to Sybil. they have a Spanish waiter called Manual. all OP needs to do is CTFM (consult the f*cking manual).

Forum rules don't give us the luxury pf giving out how to advice Andy78, and on top of that, Matey got all wound up, the advice given was sound advice, well meant, it was like, "tell me what to do, and I'll do it my way anyhow".

Sounds more like a B&B if it's only 10 rooms. Chances of the water supply being able to do 10 electric showers are about as slim as the chances of the electrical supply being able to do it.

It might all work fine until the place gets a block booking, with most showers likely to be needed at very similar times

The OP probably only wants confirmation of what he's already decided. Chances are he's posted the same question on 10 forums and if one comes back with a go that'll be the one he'll accept, ignoring the other 9.
