DNO ripped out antique main incomer/breaker .The guy hated us and himself and everyone else by the end of the job ! . Client going to contact supplier and ask for new meter .Old consumer is beyond dangerous .So whole flat will be rewired etc .I just want to strap in a DP isolator and "garage unit " temp to run lights a 2 x radial sockets . Then rewire with new consumer etc .Not had to wait for a meter before ..so wondering if they are quick ?

How long is a piece of string.

If there was a working supply to the property before the DNO work, I would expect it to still be working when they left. The same when the meter is changed.
Not a chance in hell..... its really bad . Once the DNO has done their work .we need a new meter and an Isolator . Then I can run a temp supply to enable a FULL rewire. Floors and walls are coming up and down etc

I can understand the tails and installation being behind hope but does this extend to the old meter unit itself?
I guess all DNOs can do things differently....I usually find Scottish Power are willing to move the meter if the supply moves, and they do the notification of a meter move to the energy supplier. They moved an old analogue one for me the other day. It's all the same to them.

I've found the key is having something ready that looks like it's ready to be connected to, hence why I fit an isolator, tails, and henley blocks at a minimum before they turn up. This tends to swing it, for SP at least.

Thats the Plan . New mounting board all ready etc to "ease" the job for him

The meter should have been connected back up by the DNO, so many different suppliers the chances are its not even their equipment to just disconnect.

Was it a smart meter? The DNOs can reconnect but they are not allowed to move smart meters, they are allowed to move standard meters though. A fairly recent rule that they are not very impressed with!
