I agree, he could be a 3rd year apprentice however, still an apprentice therefore should not be unsupervised.
Would you knowingly allow an apprentice in your house to carry out works?
nail on head there, murdoch.
Plus he's not expecting a mate to sign it off. unlike some I can name, eh Stuuk1??
Please feel free to point me to the post within this thread where he mentions how/who will be signing the work off?
Also your beloved 'schemes' which you live by, from 6th April allow a third party to sign work off, so now can you explain the problem with asking a friend to sign the work off?

I'm not and that is the point, unlike some who have clearly stated they are not signed up and got a 3rd party to sign off their work!!
Successfully avoided all of my questions in this entire thread..
I actually question your competency! You never give advice, you just talk about schemes and how everyone and their son should be a member.
The fact that your scheme will very shortly allow 3rd parties to sign work off and you blank the question.

As it stands it is an illegal practice. After it stops being illegal it will still be unethical in mine, and no doubt many other's, opinionWhether your scheme does it in April or September or even next year or the year after that, one way or another you have to accept that it will not be an illegal practice whether you like it or not.

To be honest matey the who situation is a complete shambles and I do wonder how the schemes sleep at night.
I will continue to do the work I enjoy doing, sign off my own work and sleep easy at night.
Just today I got confirmation back from a client that her "main earth free" house now has PME thanks to UKPN. The Twxts who extended it, and installed a new cu hadn't even got round to spotting that there wasn't an earth, let alone done any testing.
I could see it, didn't believe it at first, and double checked with my MFT. I can go back now and install her new socket, and sleep easy.
