how to correctly install henley blocks to supply 2nd consumer unit

I am putting lights and sockets in an extention for a customer and the currrent cu is full, so, my plan is to add a 2nd cu for the extention. It seems the most popular idea is to use henley blocks and split the supply, which i understand no problem, my question(s) are :

1) Do i need 2 extra sets of tails, ie - existing set into henley block then one set to to each cu?

2) Is there a max length of tails (inclined to think i need to speak to supplier about that)

existing tails into henley bolcks ans new tails to each CU----correct. max length of tails is 3metres, or fit a switch fuse to origin of tails if over 3m.

You might be able to just cut the existing tails, insert the Henly block/s and just run a new set to the new CU.
Depnds on how long the existing tails are, and where you intend placing the henly block/s.

plenty of slack on existing tails so could comfortably chop the block in, big question is does this conform with regs? Am looking at them now and can't see anything to say not. Am going to enclose connection in a simple enclosure so they are not touchable as they are going to be at low level, again i can't find a problem with this.

dont need an enclosure as henley blocks are covered OLNY knock out the holes you require
