Problem could be at the socket. Live cable squashed against fixing lug for example.

It's not a new circuit, you can spur from any point on a RFCthe MCB included.Some people try to argue that spurring from the mcb is not a new circuit as it uses one mcb & would not be notifyable
like say putting smoke detect circuit on with lighting?
others argue any new cable installed in to the CU is notifyable

Yes, just noticed that Westy, wonderful craftmanship, should be proud of that, well maybe not.He certainly knows how to connect a cpc that is for sure.
