cheapest and easiest option is flex secured with P clips

other options are SWA, MICC, or singles in conduit

up to yourself really

I was wondering about the affect of cold and uv on std cables hence the question.

Check with the manufacturer of the cable to gauge its uv resistance as each is different, the bigger concern would be the operating temp as sub-zero temps can damage cables quickly making them brittle and cracked.
