Hello boys and girls,

i have a interview for a trainee m&e surveyor role tomorrow and the recruiter has told me the company will give me a test in which they will show me a full plant room and I will have to indentify what is what in there,
i haven't worked in a plant room in over 2 years and would like some advice as to where I could poss find some labelled pics something that could help me? I've tried google but I can't seem to locate any, any feedback would be a great help as this could be a career changing moment for me,

regards

tom

just trying to think of some plant room stuff: calorifier, destratification pump, bronze pump, pressure vessels, pressurisation unit, DHW pump (domestic hot water), safety circuit, actuator, expansion vessel, boiler, burner, flue, solenoid valve...

I wouldn't worry if the wage offer is substandard all candidates will be in the same boat as you as its not taught anymore except in engineering, if they expect someone to know there way around it and the salary is to boot then im afraid to say its probably more than your experience .... just be upfront and honest express your enthusiasm to learn and understand.... trying to cram all the above into a short space of time is pointless as it invites mistakes and the chance of making you look stupid..... end of interview... we will contact you.

Unless it’s specialist industry, if you can’t identify various bits of kit it’s not worth showing up. A pump is a “pump”. A compressor is a “compressor”. A MCC is ?

M&E engineer? Don’t make me laugh!

God help British industry if this is the standard of potential recruits.
