Hi more of a DIY question but i thought might be better answered here. My dad bought 3 digital timers for his lamps. I have programmed these to the times he wants and tested with a regular lamp with on/off switch, my question is would these timers work with a touch to turn on lamp as my understanding is the switch has to be left in the on position?

Thanks

sounds about right. once you drop the supply off a touch lamp, it will not come on when power is re-applied. has to be stroked into life. a bit like 'er indoors.

You can prove this for yourself:

1 Switch the lamp on at the socket
2 Switch the lamp on by touching it
3 Switch the socket off and wait a few seconds
4 Switch the socket back on

You will then find that the light does not come back on, thus proving that the timer idea wouldn't work. Daz
