Hello,

I am trying to understand the wiring done for an already working setup in my home by an electrician: a dual light switch (Legrand branded, if it matters) with only 2 wires connected to the switch. It really puzzles me how the switch can control two separate light fixtures, since there should have been 3 wires instead of just 2 connected to the switch? Can someone please explain? Thanks in advance!

That doesn’t sound right.

Minimum, you need a supply in, plus a switchwire out to each light.

I don’t know how the wiring is done in Mauritius, but in Uk, we have combined cables containing a number of separate cores inside…
So maybe he means 2 cables, not 2 wires?

It could be a slave switch where you would have a L in and a common wire out to a master switch.
