Hi, can anyone help?, I have purchased a sandblasting cabinet it has a combination of 3 phase 415v supply and 240v motors. I purchased a 3 phase converter to run it from a 240v supply. The problem I have is the sandblaster has 5 wires yellow red blue black and an earth. The 3 phase converter is a 4 pin plug. How the neck do I wire it up. Please help.

Cheers markk3640

A fair amount of rewiring on the cabinet to separate the three phase and single phase motors.
You need to give more details and if possible some photographs.

I would agree, it could involve some rewiring of the machine to separate the 415v side from the 240v side. Any mistakes could prove expensive so I would get some professional assistance.

Red, Yellow, blue are the phases.
Black is neutral, plus the earth.
The inverter is probably 3 phase and earth,, (4pin)
Unless you specified 415 and 240 when you bought the inverter, you may have the wrong one.
You need help.

I'm assuming the inverter will become an integral part of the machine and is only going to supply the 415v motors and the machine (including the inverter) will be supplied by a suitably sized 220v supply.

What he said. To get 230V sorted you need a proper neutral. Its an electricians job to sort that out , may be possible with what you've got but you are not at a plug and play stage. Be careful

Yes I'll take your advice and get n electrician, it was a very expensive piece of kit when new ( 60k in 97) all it has is one 3 phase wire containing a red black yellow blue and earth coming out of the control panel. And Im having to use a phase converter to run it , a standard phase converter has a 4 pin L1 L2 L3 L4, and I have 5 wires!

Get an electrician in with an industrial background for he's going to have to get inside the control panel to figure out what needs the neutral and what doesn't.
Don't have a go as the probability of you get it the right way is small and one mistake could be expensive.

BTW whats your location?
