But I can't say I've ever seen it written like that, but may be specific to a sector.
Never seen it written like that before, you say it is on a cable schedule what type of cable schedule. A picture would be good.
I've not got the sheet with Me today. But from left to right column 1 is circuit number, 2 is circuit reference, 3 is cores ( 1 x 1 x 3c etc), 4 is cable size and 5 is cable type ( which are all XLPE swa).Is there not a header to the column detailing what it is?

Yes that's how I read it , but what is the x 1 in the middle. ?Are any of these parallel circuits where 2 × 1 × 4c 240.0 could be two parallel 4 core 240.0 cables?
