Hi
I'm planning to fix 4 down lights. replacing a old pendent light. an anyone tell me which method is the best. is to loop in lop out from each light or run a separate connection for each light from a JB.

Thanks

Are you an electrician or DIY?

I will assume that you are not DIY as this is not in the DIY forum, but i will assume that you maybe newly qualified, and this job is new to you. So i wont give you a DIY answer.

Install them the easiest way, if you think about it it should be obvious how to wire these and from where, CLUE you have one at the moment but you need to connect 4 now, even if you haven't installed down lighters before.

Make sure that you make provision to terminate the CPC as not all down lighters have this, but remember to keep it continuous, so you can check your R1+R1 or R2 as you see fit. If that tests out OK, then IR it, and EFLI i would do at the farthest lamp holder.

Cheers...........Howard

Try and get the wires from the existing light to a position where one of the down lights will be fitted and install a 20 amp lighting JB at that position, and then run a twin and earth around all the downlights. The Jb will be accessable then and compliant.
