Hi, i am on replacing a few light switches, from the white plastic ones to new metal ones. i know that i have to run an earth from the light box(which are already earthed) to the switch itself. I have bought some 4mm earth wire, but it is a bit thicker than the wires in the switch already. Is it ok to use the 4mm, or should i find some thinner earthing cable? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards Paul

Hi Paul and welcome to the forum, admin may move this to the diy section when they come online but for now it's in the general section to try and get you some replies.

Welcome to the forum dunaldo...

If it physically fits in with the other earth then yes its fine, if not then get hold of some 1mm stranded earth wire to better suit the job in hand.
