Hi all
I want to replace the switch that turns on/off the gas fireplace and cannot find a breaker that would shut off the power to the switch. I thinks it's a stand alone switch to the fireplace.
Is this correct?
Is it safe to disconnect and replace?

No not unless you can find out where it's fed from, what it it's suppose to control, and more importantly where you can safely isolate it.
Proving that it is electrically dead, by using the proper proprietary recommended test instruments, do you have this test gear, my advice would be to get a professional electrician in to change it for you.
As already pointed out by Pete999 you absolutely must be able to isolate it and check it is safe before any work.
But more fundamentally if you cannot find a breaker that is isolating the switch it could be a very dangerous situation if there is no breaker at all! That would be criminally negligent of any electrician not to have overload protection, but sadly that does not make it impossible (or ignorant DIY mistake).
Really in this case you should get professional help.
