Hi people im just priced a job up to put in an outside frount light with remote PIR. the easiest way to do it is to take a feed off of the upstairs ring, put in an RCD protected fused spur drill though wall and fit light. Is this acceptable with the regs and what test would i need to do for it ? I thought installation cert ?

This would be acceptable if the ring isn't RCD protected.Make sure you change the fuse to 3A.A minor works cert should be sufficient.
