hello,
I'm new here and I have to make a project for college, if you know, please help with various data about installation, the requires for a KNX installation for my one suite with 2rooms.

Hello again lol can you explain what knx means as it hasn't yet clicked from where I am

I think (after looking at google pages) its an automated control system for household equipment ( the Wise system with added complexity perhaps),it turns on the lights, close the blinds and whatever else.I have already learned that using cat 5 and 6 cable is asking for problems, should use twisted pairs
There I am an expert now :smug:

I have had an automated system for the last 40 years,I sit in the chair and say TEA,the automated system turns on and makes and delivers said tea
I then say,I need smokes from the shop, the automated system responds instantly, even though smoking is frowned on by the system
The system also provides more intimate comforts, but lets not get side tracked
Of course its the WIFE system.more superior than its modern day counterparts may I add

I have the same WIFE system however I believe the programming has become corrupted as it regularly doesn't complete tasks and freezes quickly.

The college should teach emergency lighting
instead of fancy new technology you would only fit in a mansion.

Brilliant line,I loved it lol
(Its so true of all these automated systems once their sell by date as gone, and the Pretty looking exterior is getting tarnished

Speaking of the Wife system......anyone know how the disable the MUTE time delay system mines acquired lately?.....been advised using my fluke MFT to find the fault isn't a good idea as it tends to shutdown the more intimate programming of the system.

The mute hasn't worked on mine for years except in my garage, but I don't have it installed in there. I am thinking of upgrading the system but looking into the disposal costs it's not really justifiable.

Just as in college we do not learn about it, but i have to do a project and I chose KNX, eventually if you have any other idea about another project related to electricity is very welcome.

Hello Sept,

I am trained as KNX engineer. To design anything you need to download ETS from the KNX website. It is usually used for lighting and blind control, but can be used for absolutely anything. What exactly do you need to do. The devices themselves are extremely expensive, so if you want a working rig, be prepared to shell out in the region of £600. What do you need to know?

Hello Tom,

First of all thanks for your interest, for the moment I want a project for college, the project its about my apartment. KNX project should have two parts:

1. autocad graphics eventually can u recommend a better graphics program, which includes the apartment and pulled wires necessary installation of all apartment

2. the written must include how to make a KNX installation and the contains: wires (wires come through the wall, old electrical installation must be removed?). control touch Screen panel, all the connections etc.. and of course I must add what role each has in the KNX installation.

The KNX website is very useful thanks, if you you work with something similar projects KNX can u send some pictures of how the installation is mounte
