Try eating a meal in your chinky and telling them you'll pay for it next month and see what reaction you get.....cant say any of the ones we have worked for have offered immediate payment with a nice tip included.

When they say "Ruu send me invoice?" reply with "naaa mate, you pay me cash, this is the price".

As has been said before, we seem to be one of the only professions that people want to haggle with. I'm tempted to put a new clause in my T'c and C's saying, the final price of any invoice depends entirely on the attitude of the customer.

This year I had a customer tell me I was too cheap, but I think there was some kind of fiddle going on with the chap and another electrician that he wanted to do the job.

My local chinky paid me in cash - I had the certifcate in one hand and the other an open hand to get paid cash, as I didn't trust them. The guy had a wad of £50 notes, must have been a few thousand quid.

Farmers are the best ones. They plead poverty (ok, it's not much for the hours they have to work) then pull out a roll of £50's from their raggety old jeans.

tried it myself once came away £50 shy of what i wanted but i had a bag of prawn crackers the ladfs didnt believe me haha true though
