I have noticed that professional decorators cut out the wallpaper around switches and sockets so that the edge of the paper can be seen around the fitting.

Not sure the word "professional" should be in this sentence, surely it should be substituted for "lazy"

i had a problem with one once, i had a go at him because he filled half my boxes with plaster so i couldnt fix my cpc to back box or get my 3.5mm screws in without a chisel. his relpy was "i should put a cover over them so it wouldnt get dirty"
next time a put some plastic bags and tape across so the lazy --- could work easy, he then plastered straight over my switches and sockets and said "he thought id made a mistake and wanted them filled over as he couldnt see any cables"
pay peanuts get monkeys :59:

Had one on a site years ago,a stud wall with about 8 points in it,the plasterer kept drylining over the lot and it was a pain to locate the points,so I told site agent if it happened again the wall was coming down, went back on monday and the plasterer had been in over the weekend, same trick I went to the van and got the sledgehammer while the other lad went to site forman.I went through 3 houses before they could stop me!never saw the plasterer after that, but my boxes never got covered over any more lol:clap:

Onr idiot plasterer seemed to follow me around from site to site for a while. His favourite trick was to completely fill each and every box he could, and if he could he would start to polish his filth.
I finally got the better of him when I walked into a room he had just done, having played his usual trick, so I dragged my fingers all over his newly plastered wall looking for my boxes. It looked like artex when I was finished.
He never filled any of my boxes after that:)
