I'm not MCS registered but am looking into it from a Project Management perspective as opposed to an MCS installer.
In a nutshell I'm trying to fully grasp the compliance aspects of MSC on medium to large projects where more than one discipline is involved.
Let's say a big new football stadium is being built. As is customary, a Project Management company will be employed to control all the financial and construction aspects of the project on behalf of the client, the Football Club.
As with most construction projects, all sub-contractors (steel erecting, topsoil, seating, lighting, sound system, plumbing, groundworks etc) will be paid directly by the Project Management company who will eventually be paid by the client, the Football Club. But it appears to me that an MCS solar installer, to remain MCS compliant, would have to be paid directly by the Football Club who are the end customer. Surely they would (or could, under an agreed contract) be paid by the Project Management company? This is where I'm stuck.
I contacted MCS and they insist that the installer should be paid directly by, and have a contract directly with, the Football Club, not the Project Manager.
