The wife has just told me that Tony Cable was on BBC morning news at about 8:00am this morning (whist I was stuck in traffic again) talking about landlord DIY killing someone. Anyone seen it? I cant find anything on the BBC web sites. Just like to know what he said?

If your watching Tony, lets have lunch again lol. It was a cold chicken salad sandwich at an Elex show by the way, nothing special. Another forum member was asked what quals he has? Well after he told Tony what he had the conversation stepped up 3 gears and a good debate was had. Left him with a ringing in his hear pmsl

Yeh i saw him he emphasied the new electrical saftey reg and the importance of non compitent persons not attempting electrical work . The mother of a lady who had been electrocuted in a rented property that had no been tested and inspected for sometime was also interveiwed. At last some publicity on national tv shame someone has died to get it.

Ha Ha Ha, try that over over a chicken sandwich and watch his face drop from the questions we was asking him PMSL. If it was a boxing match we would have won 17 - 9 on points lol. I must do that again, going to two Elex shows this year again, lets see what happens?

Yes Des, long drive, late lunch and they ran out of beacon butties so I/we had to have a chicken sandwich and then Tony sat with us. We let him talk first (whilst we ate) and then hit him with a few questions. He did not like it much but he remembers me every time he sees me in the shows and says hello. He looks at me in the crowd shaking my head at the questions the panel are asked. Even Steve Gould is talking to me now. Should be fun next month, I may ask a few carefully selected questions myself

are you in the NIC paul ?

NO. Think I've just made a lasting impression on TC lol.

Some people troll forums, others like asking the hard questions face to face and watch them run for cover under their "premeditated political answers". Its those answers that I like chipping away at, just for personal amusement.

How I would love a go at him. You can make guys like him quiver by just saying "and why?" to every bit of nonsense that they spout.

The funniest one was the "The NIC state 200 Ohms TT system" question. Well Sintra, the way our friend and I conducted that conversation was not at all in his best interest. He could not give us an adequate reply to why they came up with this figure after taking everything into consideration regarding different soil dampness, RA readings at different times of the year and having the rcd as the main point of protection. It went on and on.

I have nothing against the NIC or TC but they all shout and scream about electrical safety but if they care about it, why dont they all join together to make a bigger presence in GB and get things safer? Thats right, money????????

Bugger, I'm going to have to get meself over to Harrogate now to see this event!

I take it there'll be a repeat performance later in Mancunia Paul?

Harrogate for sure, Mancland I'll have to find out closer to the time.

I cant foresee any problems with the three main head men of the three main schemes being asked questions from an organised forum members group if you want to sign up? They will grant us a sidebar long as we dont ask stupid questions. Nows the time to get your answers face to face. Interested? Anyone who is send me a pm.

I don't have to deal with these schemes and having read this forum over the last two years, I hope I never do!

I watched Mr TC at Manc Elex last year for about 5 minutes then went on my way. I seem to remember they had a list of about 10 questions they were repeatedly answering each session. What struck me was the trivial nature of them, just schoolboy stuff. They're at a Trade show, I think they should be addressing deeper issues than having pre-prepared presentations on how to fill out an EICR (for example!)

If I think of anything, I'll let you know.

The trouble is, ...you wont get any straight answers out of them!! These people like Tony Cable, are only clever when they are performing to a script on video's, or making scripted statements on behalf of the company they represent!! From then on end, it'll be just fluffing over, similar to what you get out of politicians when asked questions they don't want to answer!! lol!!
