Hi!

I've got a couple of 32A Wago clips. Creating a spur socket from a ring circuit with these is quite easy, but I wanted to know if it's advised from a safety standpoint?

When wiring an electrical socket, having these as opposed to having multiple cables going into the holes in the socket?

Would this also work in spurs within radial circuits?

thanks!

Try the mk lever action socket these have the equivalent of wago built in them

Right, but I already have some wago switches from a previous project that I'd like to use somewhere

This is exactly what wagos were designed for, so safety isn’t an issue.

My wagos say 32A on the side. Would a 32amp limit make any difference for electrical socket use?

their is no advantage in using them for a spur from a ring, the socket terminals are designed to take 3 x 2.5mm cables and often more than that.
adding extra joints in any electrical system is bad practice (in my opinion) when they are not required.

For a ring final circuit they would only need to be rated at 20A.

Always use the 32A+ ones on 32A ring circuits, if there is a fault in the ring then both 'halves' of the ring are attached to a 32A supply. The little 20A max push-fit ones are great for lighting but I wouldn't use them on a ring.

Have you seen the double sockets with wago's on the back? They look awesome in the wholesalers until you see the price difference, they all have triple wago's on designed for spurring

apart from anything else, its the approximate rating of 2.5mm cable enclosed in conduit or a wall.
also, often the rating of a terminal on a standard socket.

Not checked but conductors used for a ring final circuit should be rated no less than 20A therefore any connectors employed should be rated alike.
