Hi,

I’ve installed a split charge relay in my 2003 Peugeot Boxer minibus. It’s being converted to a campervan and so now ready to install the rest of the electric system.

I’m adding in a small 12v fuse box and wondered if I need to disconnect the leisure battery before starting to install the electrical components?

Thanks

Hi,what on earth have you fitted a 1950's charge device for?

There are much, much better ways of doing this task.

....I am going to be cheeky, now, and suggest that i have not had a reply, because the OP was charging their laptop,in the camper, and the battery went flat....the vehicle was started....the load presented by the depleted battery, exceeded the capacity of the split charge fuse - which blew, and now it's still flat...another fuse goes in....pop!
The old battery charger comes out,and on the leisure battery....after a while,it comes up to a point, where another fuse (No.3) goes in,and the vehicle's alternator, plays "OPEN THE BOX" with the voltage/load it senses....

If i had a pound......;)
