What's the rules on bathroom downlighs being fire rated? Customer has bought downlights from b&q and by what she describes they are not fire rated... Can I go ahead and fit them? They will be surrounded by thermal insulation but obviously moved away by myself. However does she need to buy for hoods for them to comply?

Personaly i'd only fit Fire rated downlighters as to me it's just good practice and common sense now days to avoid futre problems (insulation moved thus covering light fitting)...no matter what any rules may say giving a 'loop hole' (as many seem to these days).
