Just joined Hello . Need some advise.

Hello Everyone,
Need some advise. My fuse meter switch tripped . Upon inspection I realized that it trips the 'wall sockets' part only as the ceiling lights work fine on their own. I removed all the plugs from the appliance and reset the fuse box but after a minute or so it trips the socket switch again.
Any help would be gratefully received.
Its a Hager 6 way consumer unit with 2 test switch.

You got a potentially dangerous fault in your wiring. I don't think you have what it takes to work out what so I'd recommend getting an electrician.

Just to add to the above. They will also have the relevant test equipment to test the circuit.

And another add, just check again that everything is unlpugged, it's easy to miss something.
There may also be things connected into Fused units like these;

Hi - as per @snowhead #4, check the immersion electric hot water element is switched off. The element does sometimes fail.

Can you be more specific. Meters record the amount of electricity used, they do not have trip switches.

Perhaps you mean something in your consumer unit (aka fuseboard?)
Does this something have a test button on it?

I'm guessing the OP has a dual rcd board and the circuit breaker for the sockets has tripped.

OP: Post a picture of your consumer unit. (fuse meter, as you call it..)

Sorry I meant its dual rcd consumer unit Hager 6 way mcb.

I noticed. if the mcb for the wall sockets part is left to OFF and the other two mcb is ON ie wall and ceiling lights. then RCB is fine. However if I switch the wall socket mcb to ON then on some occasions the RCB trips for all three and on some only the wall socket mcb trips leaving the lights working. Hope it makes sense.

Ooops . Yes RCD, however on some occasions just the 'socket mcb' trips.

Hmm. Sounds like you have a big fault somewhere.
Do you have any outside sockets or other electrical stuff that run from that circuit?

Only a porch ceiling light.

Its always a bit of detective work to find this sort of fault. Needs on site work with some test gear, once the obvious things have been removed/disconnected. Sparky on site is the way forward, I'm afraid.
