Just trying to confirm on a new extension of a domestic property what is the minimum and maximum heights for light switches and sockets to conform to the 17 th edition of the regulations ??

new heights apply to new extensions 1200mm top of accessories or 450mm bottom of accessories

rewires cant be no worse than they were before rewire

@riosax -- Switch and socket heights are nothing to do with the 17th Edition Regs, they are a building regulation (Approved Document M)

Agree with JUD socket and switch heights apply to complete new builds, not extensions

Thanks Guys, just needed clarification as architect drawings and notes from planning requested all work re the extension to be to BS7691 17th edition and re-wire of existing property to be no worse than before as stated above but client insisting 1300 for the bottom of light switches so it should be cool,

thanks
Alan
