Hi all, I'm hoping you can please give me some advice, I'm an adult career changer and looking to fully qualify as an electrician. Can you please advise on what course I would need to do? There are so many out there with different companies with mixed reviews. I would like to get working ASAP from qualifying.
Any help would be appreciated and any companies who you would recommend?

Many thanks!

Rich

the only course that is recognised is C&G 2365 level 2 then level 3. afterthat you'd go on the NVQ3 and AM2. on the way 2391 is usefull to obtain.

Will this be sufficient to obtain the JIB Gold Card?

I'm an adult changing careers and I'm new to the trade. Have been looking at starting with C&G 2365 level 2. I want to go with a college over fast track schools. The way I understand it, 2365 level 2 & 3 should hopefully be enough to get me work as a mate, from there I can obtain NVQ3, AM2 and obvious work experience which will get the JIB Gold. Is that correct?

Thanks a lot!

that's the recognised route to get your JIB gold card. other members might confirm. for your NVQ you need to produce a portfolio of work done by yourself with photos. this comes with your practical work experience.

Sorry to but in but is the c&6 2365 now called electrical installation diploma?
no idea mate. they change titles more often than a tart changes her knickers. my diploma was hand written in Latin.
