hi can someone tell me which is the active connection on this wiring diagram

I'm no expert on commercial stuff but it looks like some kind of motor diagram, is it a terminal box with links in, looks like you alter the links to get it to spin the other way,

The two wires with the squigly line denote the input so to get it to go clockwise you connect between Z1 and U2 and if you want it to go anti clockwise you connect between V1 and V2 after moving the links. Not sure what you mean not active connection either but its AC so the polarity shouldn't really matter.

I could be way off the mark though.
 
As above, from your other thread the motor is connected for clockwise so the mains goes to Z1 and U2.
 
not for a single phase motor
