Ok, we all know plastic C/U's will soon be a Big no no, Jan 2016 being the cut off I believe.
But how fares existing with comments like this ??

As of 1[SUP]st[/SUP] July 2015, the third amendment to BS 7671: 2008, The IET Wiring Regulations will be enforced. This means that it will be a requirement that all electrical installations designed and periodically inspected must comply to the updated regulations.

Now is it me, or does that put the cat among'st the pigeons !!

We need to see the link to be sure of source and context. Daz

Best hurry up with my stock of 25 half price plastic boards then - only kidding.:laugh3:

... 'enforced' ... by whom? I think that someone has forgotten the status of BS 7671! It is after all a code of practice only and there are no 'electrical installation police' about to enforce it. Read its introductory sections ... compliance may prevent the HSE taking action following a dangerous occurrence! Installations conforming to BS 7671 are regarded by HSE as 'likely to achieve conformity with the relevant sections of the Electricity at Work Regulations (EaWR) 1989.' The 'Law' which can be enforced by the HSE are the EaWR 1989.

A 'good' Electrical Trainee course teaches that at about 0.4 seconds past start time!
